We are seeking local volunteers with interest and knowledge in the following categories:
Web site – research best hosting sites and software for ISP and help in updating and moving from our current site.
Event planning – help plan and execute our annual March fundraiser and/or smaller events to introduce potential volunteers to ISP opportunities.
Volunteer expos, fairs, local markets & conventions – set-up/take-down booths and talk to potential volunteers.
Computer work – reconcile email address and mailing address lists. This is a one-time community service job - good for a detail-oriented high school student - that can be done at home.
Administrative support - write thank you cards, respond to emails, organize filing system, pick up mail in Sammamish and deliver to Issaquah.
Co-Logistics manager – oversee equipment and supplies being shipped out of storage facilities to a destination country. Ensure returning equipment is sent for tune-up or repair and then returned to the storage facility.
Contact and communicate – share ISP’s mission with local dentists. Invite them to travel internationally, work with local dental outreaches, and donate dental supplies including toothbrushes and clinic space for our local homeless outreach program.
Marketing & communications – help with our e-news, mailed newsletters, social networking, and press releases.
Grant writing – write proposals to obtain funds from foundations and government agencies.
Presentations at schools – show photos and share stories within our cultural exchange program, Peers-Empowering-Peers (requires having traveled to 3rd-world countries.)
Klahanie Blvd road clean-up - organize and facilitate volunteers twice a year.
Miscellaneous volunteer work - join our pool of local volunteers for various tasks. Smile Power is located in Sammamish, Washington.
